TYT pays last respects to late Dayang Meliah

KUCHING (Aug 27): Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar paid his final respects to the late Dayang Meliah Tun Datuk Abang Openg, the elder sister of the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, at Jalan Muhibbah here today.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Wan Junaidi and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi arrived at the late Dayang Meliah’s residence around mid-day.

Also paying their last respects were Abang Johari’s wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang and close family members.

The funeral ceremony was scheduled to take place later today at the Semariang Muslim Cemetery.

The late Dayang Meliah, aged 89, was the third child of 10 siblings and passed away at the Normah Medical Specialist Centre at 1.50am Monday.
