KUCHING (Oct 3): Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy call from the Malaysian Armed Forces and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at Astana Negeri here today.

During the visit, Commander General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad Ab Rahman informed the Sarawak Governor of the latest developments on the Malaysian Armed Forces, particularly in the state.

“Wan Junaidi had offered some of his views on the developments to strengthen military institutions in Sarawak,” he told reporters following the visit.

This marked the first visit by Mohammad after being appointed as the 22nd Commander of the Malaysian Armed Forces in September last year, succeeding General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Affendi Buang.

The second visit was made by the 10th Inspect-General of Police Tan Sri Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar.

The visit, which lasted about an hour, was also meant to invite Wan Junaidi and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to watch a special screening of the movie ‘Lahad Datu’ at a prominent shopping centre tonight.

Speaking to the media after the visit, Khalid said the film was about the events that shocked the country in February 2013, which threatened Malaysia’s security and sovereignty.

He added that the film, shown in cinemas across the country last August, had collected RM26 million, thus far.
