TYT, wife return home after official holiday in Japan

KUCHING (Dec 29): Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, arrived safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) early Monday after departing from Narita International Airport in Japan.

The couple, accompanied by close family members, had just concluded a two-week official holiday in Japan.

Upon arrival, they were warmly received by senior officers from Sarawak Head of State’s Office, led by the Chief Liaison Officer of Sarawak House Kuala Lumpur, Awang Supian Awang Daud.

Shortly after arrival, Wan Junaidi and family took part in a prayer led by Ahmad Zamri Shah Mohd Jeman, head of the ceremonial and protocol section of the Sarawak Head of State’s Office, as an expression of gratitude for a safe journey.

“The official holiday in the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ provided Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan an opportunity to take a brief respite from their year-long official commitments, while spending quality time with family members,” said an official statement from Astana Negeri Sarawak.

“The visit also allowed them to observe Japan’s rapid development at close quarters, particularly in the areas of culture and technology, which continued to serve as sources of inspiration for Sarawak’s development efforts,” it added.
