KUCHING, Aug 16: In a thrilling wushu finale at the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024, Sarawakian wushu athlete Stephanie Ngu Chai Ern once again proved she is unstoppable.

Dominating the women’s Qiangshu event, the 20-year-old outclassed 11 fierce competitors to claim her third gold medal of the games with an outstanding score of 9.606.

This remarkable achievement also marks the fourth gold medal for Sarawak at Sukma 2024.

The silver medal went to Federal Territory’s Wei Lee Cheng, who scored 9.570 points, while the bronze went to Penang’s Tang Koh Ming with 9.553 points.

Ngu’s two other gold were from the women’s Jianshu and women’s Changquan events.

Her Wushu teammates had also contributed one silver and three bronze to Sarawak’s medal tally.

They are Carmen Chaw Jia Min who won silver in the women’s Taijijian event and bronze in the women’s Taijiquan, Fung Tai Leong who won bronze in the men’s Nanquan, and Mok Xiao Yuan who won bronze in the men’s Taijijian. — DayakDaily
