MIRI: Miri development veteran Datuk Dr Lau Siu Wai has reaffirmed his enduring commitment to the city’s growth, with potential avenues for collaboration and strategic partnership discussed during a recent courtesy call.
The 96-year-old, who is executive chairman of Miri Housing Group of Companies, met Kenyalang Smart City (KSC) chairman Teo Ah Khing during the visit.
Lau is widely recognised for his contributions to Miri’s development, including his role in the establishment of Curtin University Malaysia in the city. Curtin Malaysia has also described him as a long-standing industry figure in the city.
During the meeting, Lau presented Teo with a copy of his book, The Man of Iron Will, which chronicles aspects of his life and journey.
In return, Teo presented Lau with a copy of The Edge featuring his interview and insights on Sarawak’s development.
The exchange also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss potential areas of collaboration and strategic partnership as KSC continues efforts to build connections that can contribute to Miri’s future development.
