KUCHING (Feb 20): The water level at the Batu Kitang Telemetry Station here remains manageable despite heavy downpour since Thursday evening, a Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd official said.

He said the station’s gates are currently fully open, while upstream areas are no longer experiencing rainfall.

“For Sarawak Water, there is no issue. Our water intake is designed based on the worst flood level scenario, and the intake is still running as normal,” he said.

He added that continuous monitoring is being carried out to ensure uninterrupted water supply from the Batu Kitang Water Treatment Plant to consumers.

The public has been advised to refer to the iHydro portal under the alert level section managed by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage for the latest updates on river water levels.
