MIRI (Feb 21): The Wireless Walk Miri Traders Association is running a series of charity and community activities to enliven the atmosphere throughout the Ramadan month.

Association chairman Mohamad Abdullah Jamin said traders at Wireless Walk Miri would operate daily from 2pm until late night at Zones A, B and C, offering a wide selection of traditional and modern breaking-of-fast dishes to visitors.

In addition to food and beverages, the association had also lined up several charitable programmes aimed at supporting the local community, he added.

“Among the activities scheduled for the first week of Ramadan are the distribution of ‘bubur kacang’ on the third day of Ramadan and the distribution of pre-loved baju kurung and baju Melayu on the fifth day,” said Mohamad Abdullah.

He added that the initiative was meant to assist those in need while strengthening community ties and fostering goodwill among residents.

Visitors will not only have the opportunity to purchase breaking-of-fast meals at reasonable prices, but may also break their fast at designated kiosks set up along North Yu Seng Road.

“Let us make this year’s Ramadan more meaningful by practising charity and supporting the local community economy,” he added.
