According to a statement, the visit allowed the leadership to review ongoing construction, ensure work is aligned with planned schedules and specifications, and provide guidance on the final phase of development.

During the visit, Awang Tengah was briefed on the current status of the project, the scope of work in progress, and key components designed to accommodate social, cultural, educational, and community activities for the Malay community in Sarawak.

Upon completion, Wisma Melayu Sarawak is expected to serve as a hub for cultural activities, community programmes, and educational initiatives, reinforcing the Malay identity and providing a platform to celebrate the arts, history, and traditions of Sarawak’s Malay population.

The development aligns with AKYBMS’s broader mission to safeguard, preserve, and promote Sarawak’s Malay cultural heritage, ensuring that it remains valued and passed on to future generations.

The visit was attended by AKYBMS Board of Trustee deputy chairman Dato Sri Mohd Naroden Majais, its general manager Datu Dr Sanib Said as well as contractors, consultants, and staff involved in the project. — DayakDaily
