ADVERTISE HERE

Bomba personnel administer first aid treatment to the victim after she was extricated from the wrecked vehicle.
MIRI (Jan 10): A 54-year-old man escaped with minor injuries while his wife was trapped in the front seat after the Proton Saga they were travelling in collided with a sport utility vehicle (SUV) along Jalan Batu Niah–Sepupok near Kampung Bukit Bom here on Saturday morning.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at about 8.15am, prompting the dispatch of a team from the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Station to the scene, located approximately six kilometres away.
Upon arriving at the location about six minutes later, the operations commander reported that the Proton Saga driver had already been extricated by members of the public and had sustained only minor injuries.
“The front-seat passenger, however, was trapped between the seat and the dashboard and required the use of special tools by Bomba personnel to carefully remove the front seat to create sufficient working space.
“The 51-year-old victim was then repositioned and extricated using a stretcher. The victim was safely removed from the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries,” said the report.
The SUV driver, 27, managed to exit the vehicle on his own and did not sustain any injuries.
The two victims were then handed over to the Ministry of Health (KKM) personnel to be transported to Batu Niah Health Clinic.
After ensuring the scene was safe, the firefighting team concluded the operation and returned to the station at about 8.47am.
