KUCHING: Sarawak’s Women Entrepreneurs Dashboard (WED) is set to go live in early 2027, consolidating women entrepreneurs statewide under a centralised live-data system.
Women, Early Childhood and Community Well-being Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said physical installation of the dashboard system at Wisma Wanita is targeted for completion by mid-December.
She revealed that as of September 2026, a total of 3,901 out of 5,266 entrepreneurs under the Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS), or about 74 per cent, have already been registered into the Entrepreneur Database System Sarawak (ENBASE).
“Instead of reinventing the wheel, WED utilises the existing ENBASE system data from the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment to build a unified database,” she said.
She said this during the Welfare Micro-Entrepreneur Award 2026 ceremony at the Metrocity Event Centre (MCEC) today (Oct 4).
Fatimah noted that registration efforts are ongoing to draw the remaining JWKS entrepreneurs as well as those guided by the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS), before expanding to cover entrepreneurs under other state agencies.
The ministry aims to have at least 90 per cent of women entrepreneurs under JWKS and JKMS accessing the WED platform, which will also allow unregistered entrepreneurs to sign up directly.
Fatimah emphasised that the system will capture comprehensive, real-time profiles—including business sectors, age groups, monthly income levels, and operational hurdles.
“What we do will be more organised, systematic, and accurate because it relies on live data, allowing our interventional support and assistance to be far faster and more precise,” she explained.
She added that the initiative directly supports the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 by empowering women entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and elevate household incomes above the poverty line.
