KUCHING, Apr 24: The Ministry of Works (KKR) is enhancing its strategic collaboration with the Sarawak Ombudsman in managing complaints related to infrastructure projects in Sarawak.
In a Facebook post, Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi said this followed a courtesy call from the delegation, which also sought to facilitate the coordination of bilateral complaints, at the ministry’s office in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (Apr 23).
It also included channelling of complaints on federal projects to the KKR, as well as referring issues involving the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) to the Sarawak Ombudsman for review and improvement.
“Although it does not function as a judicial body, this institution serves as an independent intermediary that supports efforts to enhance governance towards a fairer and more efficient, transparent, and effective administrative system for the benefit of the people.
“I fully support this initiative and hope that this collaboration will continue to be strengthened, particularly in streamlining the management of complaints related to infrastructure projects and ensuring that all development initiatives are completed according to plan,” said Nanta, who is also Kapit MP.
Present during the meeting were KKR Deputy Secretary-General (Management), Zainal Alhakab Seman, Chief Ombudsman of Sarawak, Abdul Ghafur Shariff, and the Sarawak Ombudsman delegation. — DayakDaily
