KUCHING: The Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak is adopting significant steps to enhance productivity and modern management practices among local organisations through its Business Excellence (BE) initiative.
This effort aims to foster competitiveness and sustainability across various sectors.
Dr Mazlina Shafi’i, director of MPC Sarawak, highlighted the importance of customers as key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
“We used to hear the saying ‘the customer is always right,’ but now we hear that this saying is no longer relevant.
“We try to coordinate what the customers want in fulfilling their expectations while upholding the excellence of our organisation,” she said.
Dr Mazlina made this statement in her speech during the High Impact Organisation Productivity Improvement Programme: ‘Business Excellence (BE) Workshop for Practitioners’ held at a leading hotel today (Oct29).
She emphasised the importance of setting clear objectives within the organisation.
“Accurate objectives are essential for achieving the expected impact,” she said.
“Without the right objectives, we cannot aim for what we want to achieve or the impact we expect,” she supplemented.
The two-day programme brought together 35 participants from 11 public and private sector institutions.
Additionally, the programme not only provides guidance for an organisation to prepare its documentation but also serves as a platform for the Sarawak Premier Industry Excellence Award (PSIEA) 2025.
