Yeoh, Rentap conduct inspection of Petra Jaya Shooting Range during Sukma XXI

KUCHING (Aug 18): Federal Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and Sarawak Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu conducted a thorough inspection of the Petra Jaya Shooting Range facilities today.

Their visit included an evaluation of shooting ranges set for distances of 10 metres, 25 metres and 50 metres.

In a Sarawak Public Communicatios Unit (Ukas) report, it said the ministers also observed the Sarawak contingent in action, namely the men’s 10-metre air pistol and women’s 25-metre air pistol events at the Malaysia Games (Sukma) XXI.

“In a notable performance, Sarawak athlete Justin Joannes achieved top results in the men’s 10-metre air pistol event, finishing the qualifying round in first place with a score of 569 points.

“Additionally, Sarawak’s Letticia Chai Jia Yi and Nur Anniesa performed well in the women’s 25-metre air pistol event, securing second and third places in the qualifying round with scores of 279 and 276 points, respectively,” it added.
