KUCHING (Oct 1): Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) has selected 13 businesses for the third cohort of its Tegas Fundraising Accelerator (TFA) programme.

The programme is designed to support the growth of local startups and social enterprises.

Held at the Tegas Digital Village (TDV) here, the four-day programme aims to help entrepreneurs, particularly those with limited experience in securing external investment, by providing essential fundraising techniques and insights.

“The accelerator, organised in collaboration with pitchIN and MYStartup, features mentorship from early-stage investors and funding experts, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of fundraising strategies.

“The initiative aligns with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy and Digital Economy Blueprint 2030,” Tegas said in a statement.

Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh, who is Tegas chairman, said the programme will prepare startups for investor engagement.

He said the Tegas Fundraising Accelerator is specifically designed to assist entrepreneurs who have little to no experience in securing external investments.

“Through Tegas’ continuous efforts to foster startup growth in Sarawak, founders will gain the essential skills and insights needed to effectively raise capital.

“This programme provides a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of fundraising, ensuring that startups are well-prepared for engaging with investors,” he said.
