15 students to receive RH Foundation 2024 scholarships

SIBU (Oct 16): A total of 15 students have been selected to receive the Rimbunan Hijau (RH) Foundation 2024 scholarship.

The selection of scholarship recipients was made during a meeting attended by RH Foundation acting chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King, secretary Toh Ka Soon, and board of trustees members Charles Tiong and Chai Tian Yew, held at its headquarters here yesterday.

“This year, we received 87 applications.

“Successful applicants are selected based on their academic qualifications and their family’s financial background,” he told reporters when met at the meeting.

According to Toh, the foundation has disbursed a total of RM11.21 million in the form of scholarships and educational contributions since its establishment in 1983.

He added that the scholarship aims to help excellent students who come from low-income families, providing the recipients with opportunities to further pursue their studies.

“Thus far, the scholarships and contributions have benefitted 558 students, from which 536 have completed their studies,” said Toh.
