19 to receive Hii Kah Tung Foundation scholarships

SIBU (Oct 10): A total of 19 individuals have been selected to receive the Hii Kah Tung Foundation Scholarship for this year.

Foundation chairman Hii Yik Ping said the recipients were picked from 33 applicants.

“Since the inception of the foundation in 1982 up to 2023, the foundation has given out scholarships to 861 students.

“Out of the number, 786 of them have already completed their studies,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

Hii said up until last year, the foundation had spent a total of RM10,640,400 on the scholarships.

Additionally, RM5,455,000 in donations were disbursed for educational purposes, he added.

Also attending the press conference were board of trustees members Ting Sik Kang, Hii Ching Chiong, and Hii Yik Nan.
