BAU, Sept 17: Two elderly passengers sustained injuries after the 4WD vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a divider near Kampung Nawang along Jalan Bau-Lundu today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at aroung 1.40pm today and immediately deployed a team of firefighters from the Bau Station to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly assisted the 77-year-old man who suffered injuries to his head and left arm, and a 76-year-old woman with a fractured left leg, safely out of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.

The injured passengers received first aid from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) Unit at the scene before being transported to Bau Hospital for further treatment.

Firefighters also cleared the debris from the accident and ensured the area was safe before concluding the operation. — DayakDaily
