BINTULU, May 22: A total of 214 Sarawak and federal civil servants from various departments and agencies across the State have been awarded the 2026 Loyal Service Medal in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and contributions to strengthening public service delivery.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Bintulu Division Deputy Resident Abang Zainuddin Abang Turkey, who has served for 30 years in the public service, led the list of recipients.
The medals were presented by the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during a ceremony held in Bintulu today.
Among the recipients were 10 officers from the Bintulu Division Resident’s Office, 24 from the Sarawak Forestry Department, two from the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, three from the Land and Survey Department, and seven from the Agriculture Department.
Others included 48 staff from the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), three from the Immigration Department, six from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) Sarawak, 38 from the Sarawak Health Department, and 73 from the Sarawak Education Department.
Also present at the ceremony were Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Majang Renggi, as well as heads of departments. — DayakDaily
