245 Indonesian nationals deported via Tebedu-Entikong border

BEKENU: A total of 245 Indonesian nationals from the Bekenu Immigration Depot were returned to their country of origin via Tebedu-Entikong border.

The Immigration Department (JIM) Sarawak stated that the deportation involved 233 adults and 12 children from Indonesia and took place on September 22 and 23.

They were transported from the Bekenu Immigration Depot to the Tebedu Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security (ICQS) Complex before continuing the repatriation process through Entikong, Indonesia.

The transfer operations were led by Deputy Assistant Director of Immigration (TPPI), Sunarti Zainal, as chief escort, alongside a team of officers deployed to ensure safety, control, and smooth movement throughout the process.

The department said the entire deportation process proceeded smoothly, safely, and in a controlled manner.

The execution of the programme reflects JIM Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that the transfer and deportation of foreign nationals are conducted systematically and in strict compliance with established procedures.
