KUCHING (Sept 17): Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, a bus company servicing the Klang Valley, Penang and Kuantan, has provided 25 Rapid KL buses which are fully equipped with disabled-friendly facilities for the upcoming 21st Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma), said Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.

The Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development said these facilities include ramps and wheelchair spaces to facilitate easy mobility for 260 wheelchair-bound athletes.

“We are extremely grateful to Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd. These buses will be crucial in connecting athletes from their accommodation to competition venues.

“We have arranged for their accommodation to be as close as possible to the venues,” she said after overseeing a dry run of three Rapid KL buses at Raia Hotel here today.

Fatimah emphasised that all the buses had undergone rigorous safety inspections prior to their deployment and would continue to be monitored to ensure the best quality of service throughout Para Sukma.

She also highlighted the importance of ensuring punctuality during the event.

“We don’t want any athlete to miss their competition due to transportation delays. So, all schedules and routes have been arranged to ensure clarity and ultimately, so our athlete will be able to compete according to the schedule,” she said.
