KUCHING (Dec 14): A 53-year-old man was arrested for alleged drug-related offences during a raid at a house in Taman Hui Sing here on Friday.
Kuching district police headquarters (IPD Kuching) said the suspect was arrested by a team from the Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) at around 4.50pm.
“A search conducted on the suspect led to the discovery of 19 transparent plastic packets with total weight of 14.4g, containing drugs believed to be syabu, with an estimated market value of RM1,644.
“The suspect also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, and has four prior criminal records,” IPD Kuching said in its Facebook page.
The suspect is currently remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code for three days, from Dec 14 to 16 to assist with the investigation.
Police reinterated its commitment to combating drugs in order to protect current and future generations, stressing that drugs remain the nation’s number one enemy.
