BINTULU: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has commended RAW Energy’s groundbreaking efforts in revolutionising the biomass industry through its innovative Hybrid Tropical Grass (HTG) pellets.
As a firm advocate for sustainable energy solutions, he expressed his excitement and pride as Sarawak welcomed the world’s first large-scale grass biomass pellet manufacturer and exporter, RAW Solid Fuels.
Abang Johari, together with Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, visited the cutting-edge facility here after officiating the launching of Borneo Oil
and Gas Supply Base, today (Sept 23).
Under RAW Energy’s umbrella, RAW Solid Fuels is setting new benchmarks in the industry with its HTG pellets, offering a renewable and carbon-negative alternative to traditional coal and wood pellets.
This advancement is crucial in ensuring a sustainable future, both environmentally and economically, for Sarawak and beyond.
Group CEO of RAW Energy, Ramsay Wilson, echoed Abang Johari’s sentiments, noting the company’s commitment to clean energy.
“RAW Energy is committed to accelerating the clean energy transition while driving economic development and improving global well-being,” he said.
Wilson added that their HTG biomass pellets offer a highly efficient carbon cycle and superior energy content, making them a viable and scalable solution for countries striving to meet net-zero targets.
“We are excited to pioneer and revolutionise this new era of power generation, offering a truly scalable and sustainable solution that helps our customers reduce their carbon footprint, whilst at the same time delivering social and economic benefits to left-behind communities,” he noted.
Meanwhile, the company said in a statement that these HTG pellets offer the highest yielding and most efficient carbon cycle in biomass with over ten times the land-use efficiency of wood-based alternatives, making them a game-changer in the production of clean energy.
With a carbon cycle measured in days rather than decades, along with 15 per cent more energy content, RAW Energy’s HTG biomass pellets represent the future of sustainable green energy.
The advanced farming and production methodologies employed by RAW Energy ensure that these HTG biomass pellets can be directly utilised as a feedstock for power stations to generate clean green energy.
This innovation will assist countries around the world to decarbonise and achieve their net zero targets.
