Albert Tiang heads new line-up to develop tennis in Sibu

SIBU (March 18): Albert Tiang has been elected president of the Sibu Division Lawn Tennis Association (SDLTA) following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held here on Sunday.

He is assisted by his deputy Jeffrey Kang with Brandon Wong, Terence Tan and Lau Sing as the three vice-presidents.

Cindy Yap was elected as secretary and assisted by Wong Su Ling. Pau Huan Hie was elected as treasurer and Tang Jia Ee as vice treasurer.

Others in 2026-2028 committee line-up included Peter Wong, Donald Ting, Wong King Yiing, Johnny Chiong and Albert Liu.

In his remarks, Tiang expressed appreciation to the outgoing committee for their contributions over the past two years. He also outlined priorities for the new leadership moving forward.

“The key focus areas for the new committee are refurbishment work to the four tennis courts at Bukit Lima under YB Datuk Michael Tiang’s Rural Transformation Project (RTP) grant,” the former councillor said.

He added that the association would continue its efforts to nurture young players through junior development programmes while encouraging greater participation among adults interested in learning the sport.
