KUCHING (Sept 14): Angkatan Zaman Mansang (Azam) Sarawak is participating in the Pesta Pulau Bruit 2024 at the Rural Growth Centre (RGC) in Semop from Sept 13-15.
On the first day, Azam Sarawak’s booth featured a range of interactive activities, including quizzes, colouring sessions, a TikTok challenge, video screenings showcasing their initiatives and the ‘Jom Follow Azam’ social media campaign.
These activities not only entertained visitors, but also served to introduce Azam Sarawak as an organisation dedicated to empowering rural communities through effective communication.
“Azam’s participation in Pesta Pulau Bruit is a valuable opportunity for us to engage with rural communities.
“This aligns with our mission to promote Azam Sarawak’s role in community development and effective grassroots communication,” said Azam Sarawak’s strategic communications manager Hassnal Hakim in a statement.
Hassnal added Azam’s both also introduced the ‘Jom Teka Wang Besar’ competition, which is an initiative by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Datuk Abdullah Saidol.
This activity gave visitors the chance to guess the total amount of money in a jar.
“This initiative not only adds excitement for visitors, but also reflects Datuk Abdullah Saidol’s creative approach in engaging with the community,” he added.
Pesta Pulau Bruit, which is in its second edition, is a joint effort between the Daro District Office, Semop Service Centre and Tanjung Manis Service Centre with support from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit and Azam Sarawak.
The event, which is supported by numerous agencies, aims to introduce community development initiatives in rural areas while fostering social connections among residents.
