Barge drift sets locals on edge

MIRI: Residents of Kampung Wireless were startled this morning (Sept 17) when a barge drifted perilously close to their riverfront homes.

“We’re terrified,” said one resident, expressing their concern on social media. “If the barge crashes, it could cause a lot of damage.”

The incident prompted locals to call for immediate action from authorities.

How the barge ended up in the area remains unclear.

Residents urged authorities to tow the barge to a safer location before any accidents occur.
