MIRI (Sept 10): Bekenu assemblywoman Datuk Rosey Yunus has called upon the region’s youths to voice out their ideas and host programmes meant to benefit the community.
In this regard, the Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development pledged to host more youth-centric empowerment programmes in the region.
“After witnessing the encouraging turnout for the inaugural gathering of the 1828 Youth wing of DUN Bekenu over the weekend, I am rather impressed by the group’s initiative to organise and host activities for its members.
“I encourage the youths to suggest more activities for the region, and we will work to bring those ideas to life for the benefit of the region,” she said.
Rosey said this in her opening address at an esports competition and gathering hosted by Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) at Bekenu Community Hall yesterday.
Moreover, she highlighted that the PBB Bekenu 1828 Youth wing, comprising members aged 18 to 28, plays a vital role in nurturing future leaders by promoting structured guidance programmes for its members.
“The Bekenu 1828 Youth wing is unique for its inclusion of both men and women, unlike other PBB wings. These groups are particularly significant as they are eligible votes, critical in the country’s progress,” she said.
