SIBU (Sept 7): A haemodialysis centre will soon be set up in Sungai Tulai, Bintangor, said Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hing.

The Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project, he said, has been approved by the state government with an allocation of RM3.7 million.

In extending his gratitude to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the project’s approval, Ding highlighted the crucial needs of this healthcare project which would benefit the community in Bintangor and its surrounding areas.

“The sketch design of the Tulai Haemodialysis Centre has been completed, and construction works of the one-storey building will commence after everything is finalised,” he said.

He disclosed this in a meeting on the project with Sarikei deputy resident Nadjuri Bidin and heads of various government agencies, here recently.

Adding on, he said the centre would reduce congestion at the government hospitals, whereby residents from Pakan, Julau, Sarikei, Tanjung Manis and Sibu can also utilise the service at the Tulai Haemodialysis Centre.

“Hopefully, the construction process will run smoothly and be carried out according to the work standards that have been set,” he expressed.
