BINTULU (March 4): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has reiterated his steadfast support for community-driven programmes held in conjunction with Ramadan.

His special duties officer, Steven Kong, presented a contribution on Tuesday to Surau Nur Islam of the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) Bintulu branch in conjunction with the holy month.

The financial donation was received by Surau Nur Islam and MACMA Bintulu branch chairwoman Norhayati Abdullah.

Kong said the contribution symbolises the MP’s continued commitment to initiatives that enliven Ramadan through meaningful religious and community activities, including breaking-of- fast gatherings, tadarus al-Quran sessions and religious talks.

He noted that such programmes help strengthen brotherhood among congregants while fostering unity and mutual understanding within Bintulu’s multi-racial community.

“As his representative, I sincerely appreciate the important role played by Surau Nur Islam and MACMA in promoting harmony and empowering the Chinese Muslim community in Bintulu,” said Kong.

Kong also conveyed the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture’s wishes for a blessed and fulfilling Ramadan to all Muslims, expressing hope that their charitable deeds and acts of worship throughout the holy month will be eased and richly rewarded.
