BINTULU (March 3): Aspiring students now have more time to apply for the Bintulu Port Scholarship Programme, following an extension announced by Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB).

According to a Facebook post by BPHB, the new application closing date is March 31.

The programme provides financial support to eligible students pursuing higher education, aiming to help outstanding young Malaysians — especially Sarawakians — navigate their academic journey with confidence and financial stability.

“Under the prestigious programme, successful applicants will receive full tuition fee coverage based on the actual credits taken, with payments made directly to the respective universities.

“In addition, recipients will be provided with a monthly living allowance of RM1,000 to help ease daily expenses.

“The scholarship also offers annual reimbursement for return airfare on a pay-and-claim basis,” said BPHB.

Applicants must be Malaysian citizens, preferably Sarawakians, aged 22 or below in the year of application, and in their first semester of studies.

They must not hold any other scholarship and must be free from criminal records or substance-related offences.

Priority is also given to candidates from the B40 income group.

For Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), applicants must obtain a minimum of six As, including Bahasa Melayu, English and Mathematics, as well as a passing grade in Sejarah.

For Diploma, STPM, A-Level, Foundation or Matriculation qualifications, a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 is required.
