KUCHING, May 23: A new partnership between BioVerde Technologies Sdn Bhd (BVT) and Ivory Beak will focus on developing biodiversity-based resources into personal care and wellness products through joint efforts in product innovation, commercial development and market expansion initiatives.

According to a press release, the collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during Biodiversity Day celebrations hosted by Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) today.

BVT and Ivory Beak will also look into longer-term strategic collaboration aimed at advancing commercially viable products while supporting sustainable industry growth in Sarawak.

The initiative is aligned with BioVerde Technologies’ broader objective of translating biodiversity research and innovation into commercial opportunities in support of Sarawak’s bioeconomy agenda under the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

Representatives from BioVerde Technologies said the collaboration underscores the role of industry partnerships in accelerating the development of high-value biodiversity-based products and strengthening Sarawak’s position in the regional bioeconomy space.

The MoU exchange took place alongside Biodiversity Day activities organised by SBC which brought together government agencies, industry players, researchers and ecosystem partners to support biodiversity conservation and commercialisation efforts in the State. — DayakDaily
