KUCHING (Oct 2): Another fire-related incident occurred at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), this time involving a faulty air conditioning unit at its urology department.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a call on the incident was received at 5.07pm, however the fire was already extinguished by the hospital’s Emergency Response Team (ERT).
“Upon the firefighters’ arrival, they found an air conditioning unit at the hospital’s urology department, located on the ground floor, was on fire. However, it was already extinguished by the hospital’s ERT using a fire extinguisher.
“The firefighters then conducted further investigations to prevent similar incidents from occurring,” Bomba said in a statement.
It also clarified this was a separate incident from the earlier incident at the hospital’s specialist clinic block.
