Car crash leaves 18-year-old injured

MIRI: An 18-year-old man was injured after the car he was traveling in skidded and crashed into a tree on Jalan Tanjong Lobang, here.

The incident prompted an immediate response from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operation centre, a team of firefighters from its Miri Sentral station was dispatched to the scene, upon receiving an emergency call at 11.22pm.

The operation to extricate the injured victim from the vehicle took nearly half an hour.

Once freed, the victim was handed over to medical personnel from Miri Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
