BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Aug 26): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the annual Malaysia-Brunei Darrusalam Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC) bodes well for the consolidation of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between Malaysia and Brunei.
He said this allows the two countries to pursue wide-ranging cooperation in the context of strong Malaysia-Brunei relations and that of Sabah-Brunei.
The Chief Minister accompanied Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to the 25th Malaysia-Brunei Darrusalam Annual Leaders’ Consultation, the highest-level meeting between the two countries held at Istana Nurul Iman, here on Monday.
At the ALC, leaders of the two countries – Brunei led by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, witnessed the signing of the Memoranda of Understanding and Bilateral Instrument between the Government of Malaysia and Government of Brunei Darrusalam.
Besides exploring new opportunities for mutual benefits, the progress of existing bilateral cooperations was also discussed during the meeting.
The Prime Minister’s entourage also comprised of Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and senior federal and state ministers.
