Continue pioneering development, ensuring employment opportunities, says PBB vice president

KUCHING (Oct 27): Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) needs to continue being a pioneer in development while ensuring employment opportunities are available to safeguard the people’s welfare, said Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

The PBB vice president said for the party to remain effective, it is not only measured through election results and political support but also through efforts to improve the lives of the community.

“Our responsibility is not just to fight for the interests of PBB members, but also to defend the fate of the people in this area. The trust given by the people to us must be carried out with full responsibility and dedication.

“That is why our struggle must be based on the values ​​of justice, progress, and well-being for all levels of society, regardless of background or social status,” he said at the opening of the PBB Pantai Damai Branch Representative Meeting (Mesyuarat Perwakilan) 2024-2027 Session at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching today.

Officiating the event was PBB permanent chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is head of PBB Pantai Damai Branch, also advised PBB leaders and members to always be sensitive to the wishes and needs of the people.

“I believe that with wisdom and the spirit of unity, we will continue to be a strong and relevant party that is always ready to listen to the people and fight for the rights of the poor.

“Although the political landscape is now increasingly challenging, as long as we stay united, I am confident that PBB will continue to stand firm as a vehicle for the struggle of the people,” he said.

The Deputy Utility and Telecommunication Minister also urged the younger generation to play their role in ensuring the continuity of the party.

“We should give space and opportunities to young people to play an active role, bringing fresh and innovative ideas that can drive the development of the party forward.

“At the same time, we should also ensure that they will feel the responsibility of continuing the struggle of this party that has been established for so long,” said Dr Abdul Rahman.
