Crash at roundabout claims life of motorcyclist

KUCHING (Oct 6): A motorcyclist died early today after crashing at the Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah Bin Datu Bandar Haji Muhammad Kasim roundabout here.

Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the victim was travelling from Jalan Tun Salahuddin when his motorcycle went out of control and crashed around 3.40am.

“The victim, a male in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by Sarawak General Hospital personnel,” he said in a statement.

He said police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and called on anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward.

“Those with information related to this incident can contact traffic investigating officer Insp Charlie Aloysius on 014-8682068, the Kuching Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division on 082-259900, or any nearby police station,” he said.
