SIBU (Sept 12): A total of 15 teams will showcase their dancing skills at the ‘Dancing Under the Moonlight’ event taking place this Saturday at Rajang Park Commercial Centre here starting at 6.30pm.

Organised by the Sibu MP Service Centre, the event is among the activities held in the lead up to the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, happening at the same venue the following day.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling said Saturday’s dance performances include traditional, contemporary, classical and ethnic dances from a number of countries, as well as modern dance.

“Each team will perform for a duration of three to five minutes, with the winner to receive a cash prize of RM1,500.

“The first runner-up will get RM800; the second runner-up, RM500; and two consolation prize winners, RM300,” he said in a statement.

Ling said 500 mooncakes and lanterns have also been prepared for distribution on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

“The two events are an opportunity for family and friends to gather and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival together,” he added.

He thus invited the public to attend both events to enliven the celebration.
