ADVERTISE HERE

The lion dance troupe greets a family as a DAP worker distributes the mandarin oranges.
KUCHING (March 3): The Stampin parliamentary service centre on Sunday distributed mandarin oranges to residents of Lorong 2, Stampin Resettlement Scheme here in conjunction with this year’s Chinese New Year celebration.
Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen’s special assistant Michael Kong said the annual festive programme, first held in 2022, has become a meaningful tradition for the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin branch.
He said beyond festive greetings, the event reflected the branch’s ongoing commitment to stay connected with the community and share important moments together.
“What stood out most was the strong sense of neighbourliness among residents. Festive celebrations like these continue to show that our diversity is our strength, and that simple acts of care can bring people closer regardless of background.
“Chinese New Year is not only a time of celebration but a reminder of the importance of community, kindness and unity,” he said in a statement.
The event also saw performances by the DAP Socialist Youth lion dance troupe.
Kong pledged that DAP Stampin would continue this tradition in the years ahead as part of efforts to build a more caring and inclusive society.
