Day 4 of search for missing octogenarian in Serian ends without success

KUCHING (Sept 26): The fourth day of the search for an elderly man reported missing in Kampung Slabi Empurung in Serian ended today without any new leads.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said today’s search for Jambung Ajui, 83, involved two groups – one searching a 2km radius in the forest behind the victim’s house, and the other patrolling along Batang Sadong.

“The search radius was then expanded to 4km, utilising police boats as well as drones for aerial surveillance,” it said in a statement.

The search was postponed at 5pm due to unfavourable weather, and is scheduled to resume today.

Jambung was reported missing by his son on Sunday morning.
