Deputy Minister distributes RM27,000 to fire victims

SIBU: Deputy Minister for Economy Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib has extended financial support to the fire victims in Kampung Hilir.

The assistance, totalling RM27,000, was distributed to the affected families during a brief ceremony at Surau Darul Ma’wa Kampung Baru Sibu recently.

The funds, alongside basic necessities, were delivered by Hanifah’s representative, Almalhakim Norshidi, and officers from the Mukah Parliamentary Service Centre.

In response to the tragedy, Hanifah, who also the Mukah MP, encouraged other parties to contribute aid to the impacted families.

Any party willing to offer help and donations is welcome, she said.

Also present were Premier’s political secretary, Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi and Penghulu Ibrahim Laili.
The fire on Sunday razed 17 houses, affecting 18 households in the community.
