“This competition has not only strengthened bonds among cat lovers but has also contributed to the growth of Sarawak’s tourism industry, and the presence of international judges here today proves that Kuching continues to grow as a preferred tourist destination,” he said in his speech at the event.
The event held at Mydin Hypermarket, Vista Tunku here yesterday was graced by the Sarawak Premier’s wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.
Also present were Kuching North Datuk Bandar Hilmy Othman and Dr Abdul Rahman’s wife Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin.
An eight-month-old male Bengal cat named Rimba was adjudged as the ‘Best Cat’ out of the 90 cats competing in the event.
