Driver injured in single vehicle accident in Miri

MIRI (Aug 3): A man was injured after the car he was driving was involved in a single vehicle accident at Jalan Tanjung Lobang on Friday.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement, a distress call was received at 11.22pm.

“A team was despatched to the scene, where they found the accident occurred after the car skidded and crashed into a tree.

“The 18-year-old victim had to be removed from the vehicle using a spine board and cervical collar,” it said.

The victim was handed over to medical officers and was brought to the hospital for further treatment.

The Bomba team wrapped up its operations at 11.52pm.
