Duo nabbed in Lutong for stealing bicycle

MIRI (Dec 16): Two men were arrested here around midnight for allegedly stealing a bicycle.

In a statement, Miri police said Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel nabbed the suspects in Lutong.

“During the arrest, several items believed to belong to the suspects, along with a bicycle suspected to have been stolen by the duo were seized,” said the police.

Both men were taken to the Miri Central police station lock-up to facilitate investigations under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.

“Members of the public are also urged to promptly report any information or suspicious activities that may assist police in their efforts to curb crime in the Miri district,” said the statement.

The police also advised the public not to be involved in any criminal activities, stressing that firm and uncompromising action will be taken against offenders.
