KUCHING, May 11: The Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) today paid tribute to former Sarawak minister and Belaga assemblyman Datuk Seri Bo’ Tajang Laing, as well as Datin Patinggi Puan Sri Dr Yong Sau Kan, the wife of the late Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Wong Soon Kai.

At the start of today’s sitting, DUS Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased before leading members of the august House in observing a minute’s silence in their honour.

Bo’ Tajang and Dr Yong passed away on April 23 and April 24 respectively.

Meanwhile, Asfia also granted leave of absence under Standing Order 81 to Deputy Minister for Talent Development Sarawak and Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis for today’s sitting, as well as Dudong assemblyman Dato Sri Tiong King Sing for today and tomorrow. — DayakDaily
