Early morning fire badly damages double-storey house in Bintulu

BINTULU (March 2): A double-storey terrace house at Kidurong Hill here was badly damaged in a fire early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they were notified about the incident at 3.55am, and firefighters from the Kidurong fire station was dispatched to the scene.

“Upon reaching the location, firefighters found the flames had already engulfed most of the house, with an estimated 70 per cent of the structure affected,” it added.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The fire was brought under control at 4.33am.

Firefighters subsequently carried out overhaul works to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished and to prevent any possibility of reignition.
