MIRI, Sept 10: A devastating fire destroyed a family’s wooden home in Tudan Desaras Block 6 this morning.
The fire, which broke out while the family of four was away, reduced their home to ashes.
The couple, both 46, and their two children, aged 12 and 18, were at work and school, respectively, when the fire consumed their residence.
No one was injured, but the family now faces the heart-wrenching task of rebuilding their lives from scratch.
According to the Lutong Fire Department, led by Station Chief Henry Jugah, firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 8.53am.
Despite their swift action, the fire had already engulfed the entire home by the time they arrived.
“We rushed to the location as soon as we received the call, but the fire had spread rapidly,” Henry explained.
“It’s always difficult to see families lose their homes, but thankfully no lives were lost.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The operation was officially concluded at 11.40am. — DayakDaily
