Fire at Jln Bako industrial area destroys 10-door workers’ quarters, 9 vehicles

KUCHING, Sept 3: A 10-door workers’ quarters at the Jalan Bako industrial area was destroyed in a fire today.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a call on the incident at 1.49pm and deployed firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya station to the scene.

Upon arrival at 2.08pm, the operations commander reported that the non-permanent structure of the workers’ quarters measuring 20×80 square feet was destroyed in the fire.

The fire was put out at 2.21pm and the operation ended at 2.57pm.

Two cars and seven motorcycles were also destroyed.

No casualties were reported. — DayakDaily
