MIRI (Aug 25): A total of 223 students from 14 primary schools here yesterday took part in a fire drill exercise at SK Tudan Jaya.
The drill is a collaboration between Miri District Scout Council and Lutong fire station, in conjunction with the Keris Ganga Progress Badge Camp taking place at the school this weekend.
“As part of the training, both teachers and students were not informed beforehand that a fire drill would be taking place,” said Lutong fire station in a statement.
The 90-minute drill involved the ‘rescue’ of three students trapped in a ‘burning’ building.
Lutong fire station chief Henry Jugah and senior fire officer Mohammad Faizul Ali were among those coordinating the drill.
