Fire ravages wood factory at Jln Kuching-Serian, no casualties reported

KUCHING (Sept 26): A wood factory in Mile 48, Jalan Kuching-Serian was partially destroyed in a fire today.

According to Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak, they received a distress call around 4.53pm before deploying firefighters from the Serian station.

At the scene, firefighters immediately sprung into action and managed to control the blaze around 5.36pm. By this time, the premises were already 40 per cent destroyed.

The fire was eventually put out entirely around 7.51pm before firefighters wrapped up the operation.

No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire and total loss is still being investigated.
