Fire razes wooden house at Kpg Lereng Bukit

MIRI (Sept 1): A wooden house at Kampung Lereng Bukit was completely razed in a fire today.

In a statement, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operations control centre said it received a distress call at 2.10pm.

“Immediately after receiving the call, a team of 15 firefighters from Miri Bomba station were rushed to the scene, located approximately 3km away.

“When the team arrived at the scene, the operations commander reported that the house had been 100 per cent destroyed,” said Bomba Sarawak in a statement.

It added that no casualties were reported in the incident as the occupants managed to escape to safety.

“The total losses and cause of the fire are still under investigation,” said Bomba Sarawak.
