Flash floods hit Kuching following heavy afternoon downpour

KUCHING (Oct 11): Heavy afternoon downpour has caused flash floods in several parts of the city here today including the venue of the 78th birthday celebration of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Padang Merdeka, scheduled for tomorrow.

This led to tense moments as motorists navigated through the flooded sections of the road.

Among other areas reported to be hit by the flash flood is along Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg near the Sarawak General Hospital junction.
